The IT Kidz Code Clubs are after school computer clubs using Raspberry Pis Scratch and Python programming.
What is Rasberry Pi?
The Raspberry Pi is a small computer that can do lots of things. It plugs into a monitor and you attach a keyboard and mouse. Children will learn how to put their computer together and use it to learn programming through fun, practical projects.
What is Scratch?
Scratch is a visual programming language that makes it easy for young people to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art – and share their creations on the web.
What is Python?
Now that the children understand the concepts in programming using scratch, we move on to Python, a text based coding language that is easy to learn and fun to use.
Clubs run for 10 weeks after school. Each child receives a Certificate of Completion and have the opportunity to enter the National Scratch Competition.
Please Note: The advanced class is restricted to a maximum of 10 children per class.
